Why Does My Phone Feel So Warm? Here are 4 Reasons Why
ONE DAY AS YOU COMMUTE HOME AFTER A LONG DAY ON THE JOB, YOU NOTICE A WARM SENSATION ON YOUR RIGHT LEG – YOUR PHONE FEELS WEIRDLY WARM.
Singapore’s weather might be on the warmer side, but there are numerous other reasons why your phone might overheat.
Here are 4 of them:
1. Too many Apps in the Background
Are you guilty of forgetting to exit your mobile applications? Your phone might be overheating because you have too many apps in the background.
Sure, apps have changed the world we live in in profound ways. They are so fast and convenient to access. Not to mention apps make life so much more efficient and save you a lot of time, such as when you want to use an app to order your favourite food, when you want to access a fun game, or when you want to shop online.
But those apps can overwhelm your phone and cause your device to overheat if you do not close them when not in use.
2. Faulty or Old Battery
A strong battery is essential to an enjoyable mobile experience. Unfortunately, even the most efficient battery will experience wear and tear.
Your device might be feeling warmer than usual due to an old or faulty battery. It takes a toll on the device and can even be hazardous if you are unaware.
3. Over-usage
Our world is dominated by smartphones, but even these smart devices could use a break every now and then.
Much of our day is spent on their phone, even while we are doing other activities, such as cleaning, working, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
Mobile activities like livestreaming, recording videos or playing music could take a toll on the device and cause it to overheat.
4. Malware
Notice some files disappearing or your phone getting unbearably warm?
Malware might be the cause.
The result of your phone not working properly and being hot could be due to the presence of malware on your phone. Like computer viruses, malware often does cause unwanted damage to your phone if you do not get rid of it immediately.
What to do if Your Phone Overheats
You needn’t overreact if you notice that your device is warmer than usual. However, do monitor the condition of your device. You might need to find a solution if you find that the device feels warm even when not in use.
1. Stop using your phone for awhile
If you notice that your phone is hot, then you should stop the usage of your phone for a while. It may be hard to be switch off your phone especially when most of us depend on the smartphone for our livelihood. But letting your phone rest for a while can help your phone to cool down.
Check the phone later to ensure that it is cooled down to a decent level, so that it will be safe and efficient to use once again.
2. Exit all apps that are not being used
When you have a lot of apps on your phone, this certainly can result in the phone overheating. But when you are careful to exit the apps that you are not using, this can give your phone the opportunity to cool down in an appropriate manner.
3. Remove the phone case
The phone case itself is likely not the problem of your phone overheating. But when you have a hot phone, the phone case can certainly keep the heat in, which is why removing the phone case will be a good idea. Therefore, when the phone case is removed, this will allow the heat to dissipate, so that the phone can more quickly cool down.
4. Reduce the brightness
If your device feels oddly hot all of a sudden, do consider reducing the brightness of the screen of the phone. This is due to the fact that the level of brightness can contribute to your phone being hot. Thus, your phone may be reacting to the level of brightness of the screen when the phone becomes too hot. A good way to fix this is to reduce the brightness of the screen to allow the phone to cool down.

A large part of what makes the iPad Mini so popular is its tiny frame combined with insane processing power. Apple knew their target demographic well when tweaking the specs for this recent release, and it really shows. Catered towards people working on the go, and creatives who spend a lot of time drawing and sketching for work, this 6th generation iPad Mini checks all the boxes for a powerful and portable tablet suited for work and play.
Apart from the changes to case material, the new design language of the iPad Mini 6 features a larger edge-to-edge screen, along with narrow borders and minimum bezel space. Although we’ve seen bezel-less devices from Apple for the better half of a decade, this is the first time the iPad Mini has gotten such an upgrade. In addition to looking much sleeker, this change is felt even more coupled with the new 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone, P3 wide colour, and ultra-low reflectivity.
The end result is a gorgeous dynamic screen that makes the iPad Mini 6 a practical choice indoors and outdoors. Not to mention the support of Apple Pencil 2, which feels amazing on the low latency screen. All these facets add up to make a difference larger than the sum of each individual part, resulting in the new iPad Mini feeling like the perfect device for anyone wanting a portable and adaptable workhorse tablet.

It wouldn’t be an Apple upgrade if they didn’t improve the camera capabilities on the device. If anything, that’s the least we expect from the tech giant’s annual keynote events. This time, the iPad Mini has received blessings in both the front and back cameras on the device. Boasting a 12MP camera on both the front and back of the 6th-Gen iPad Mini, this is a massive boon compared to the relatively sub-par 7 and 8-megapixel cameras on the respective front and back of the 5th-Gen iPad Mini. The newer Mini also has the ability to record in 4k and capture higher-quality images, courtesy of the new Smart HDR 3 function in the A15 Bionic chip.
Knowing that video calls are also more popular now than even in the time of COVID-19, Apple’s implementation of CentreStage for a more natural video call experience also feels like a natural feature to have as well.
A ton of well-deserved updates to the iPad Mini makes it feel right at home alongside Apple’s latest generation of tablets. If you’re still wondering if you should still get the new iPad, the make or break factor here really is the size and portability of the iPad Mini 6.
Historically, the Mini was always viewed as the cheaper and lower-spec cousin of the flagship iPad. Not this time – the iPad Mini 6 proves a worthy contender for the individual who’s constantly on the move, looking for an all in one device that fits comfortably in the palm of their hand.
