What Can and Cannot Be Fixed

This is the most important thing to understand about Face ID repair and most shops do not explain it clearly.

Face ID works through a TrueDepth camera system made up of several components including the dot projector, infrared camera and flood illuminator. These components are linked to your iPhone’s logic board at a hardware level.

What we can fix:

If the issue is caused by a damaged flex cable, a loose internal connection, misalignment of the Face ID assembly, or damage to surrounding components from a drop or a previous repair, we can address this and restore Face ID function in most cases.

What cannot be fixed at any third party shop:

If the TrueDepth sensor module itself is physically damaged or has failed completely, Face ID cannot be restored by any independent repair provider. This is not a limitation of LYK specifically. It applies to every repair shop outside of Apple’s own service centres. In this situation, your iPhone continues to work normally using your passcode.
